Ongoing Group
Yoga, Shamanism and Kabbalah
Open Weekly Group
Wednesdays, 7:30 –9 PM
222 Birchwood Ave., Nyack
$15/session
Two primary lines of spiritual exploration dating
back to the earliest times of humanity, are shamanism
and yoga. Some would say that they underlie the experiential
basis of all the world's religious traditions. Both
provide methods for freeing ourselves from the limited
perceptions of conditioned mind and relating more consciously
to all aspects of life. Through both, we may directly
access aspects of the Divine energies (prana, chi, Light)
that exist throughout our nature and the world.
In this group we will employ the tools of shamanism
and yoga to explore the Tree of Life of the Jewish mystical
tradition; Kabbalah. The Kabbalah encodes teachings
for deep spiritual awakening and practical guidance
for living a life with wisdom and healing intention.
While often taught as a complex intellectual or metaphysical
theory, we will focus on a very experiential approach
that brings awareness to the full body and mind.
In our time together, we will study some history and
theory of the shamanic journey and the deep meditation
practices of Agni (light-fire) Yoga. We will explore
how these can open us to the light and teachings of
the Tree of Life. Those who attend will be supported
and encouraged in making these teachings a powerful
daily practice bringing strength and clarity to their
lives.
