meditation practice

Meditation has a purpose. You would not take the time to do it unless it brought something of value into your life or freed you of something that was making your life more difficult. This one day retreat will focus on the intention to heal: freeing yourself from the patterns in your body and mind that obstruct the flow of your natural healing presence and energy.

We will focus on developing and deepening your meditation experience through a process of being together in meditative practice for the day. There will be teachings and guided meditation practices aimed at bringing you into alignment with your Inner Healer including the practice of the Laying on of Hands.

The day will consist of experiential practice sessions involving sitting, movement and healing of self and others.

Some key elements of the course:

• Slowing down and quieting the mental noise. Learning to shift the focus of awareness from thinking about to feeling and sensing directly.
• Clarifying healing purpose and intention: Opening to and accepting the need for healing in your life. Clearing conflicts and denial about your healing potential.
• Practices that you can continue to use at home for yourself and others: Specific healing-energy meditations that work for physical and emotional wounds for yourself and others. This will include what is known as the "laying on of hands".

Alan Levin, M.A., LMFT is a licensed psychotherapist and has been teaching meditation for close to 40 years. He is an initiate in the deep meditative practices of Agni Yoga and has studied a range of meditative methods and shamanic approaches to healing. For many years he taught the methods you will learn in this retreat at Universities throughout California to nurses and other health professionals.
