Association for Spirituality and Psychology

ASP was formed in 1997 in response to the rapidly growing interest in the relationship between spirituality and psychotherapy. It was the first center of this kind within a major psychotherapy and psychoanalytic training institute, the National Institute for the Psychotherapies. The ASP has members from a wide range of health fields and holds educational events, trainings and conferences.

Wherever The Need

If you’ve ever wondered what an individual (or a couple) can do to bring positive change to the world, please check out the amazing work described on this website. Wherever the Need USA was started by David and Jean Purviance, and provides impoverished individuals and groups with culturally sensitive and locally desired sustainable assistance.

WTN relies on grassroots donations and seeks to connect its donors with the people who receive help in order to foster personal compassion and global understanding.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences

is a nonprofit membership organization located in Northern California
that conducts and sponsors leading-edge research into the potentials
and powers of consciousness—including perceptions, beliefs, attention, intention, and intuition. The Institute explores phenomena that do not necessarily fit conventional scientific models, while maintaining a commitment to scientific rigor. IONS produced and distributes “one minute shift” videos such as the one below.

One Minute Shift

These are inspiring and informative one minute video clips by visionaries of the "new consciousness" movement.

The Teleosis Institute

The Teleosis Institute is devoted to the development of sound, sustainable medical services provided by healthcare professionals who serve as environmental stewards. Teleosis has three major goals: to educate health professionals about the principles and practices of Ecologically Sustainable Medicine (ESM); to build a community-based network for healthcare professionals who are seeking to provide sustainable medical services; and to enable access to high quality, cost-effective, sustainable medical services benefiting underserved populations and the environment in which we live.

A Berkeley, CA-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Teleosis was founded by Dr. Joel Kreisberg, DC, CCH, a holistic healthcare practitioner and environmental educator. For more information, see www.teleosis.org.

The Art of Alex Grey

The art of Alex Grey takes us on a sacred, visionary journey into the energetic dimensions of human experience and consciousness. The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors is a sanctuary that can be visited in New York City for contemplation and also holds public events. Alex’s series of paintings, “The Sacred Mirrors on display in the chapel, allow us to see ourselves and others as reflections of the divine". This is something that will truly inspire you along your path of meditation or any spiritual work. You can view some of his art work at target="_blank"http://alexgrey.com & http://www.cosm.org/index.html.

Ashes and Snow

An astounding exhibition of the photographs of Gilbert Colbert. Colbert's work presents the relationship of human beings with animals in a breathtaking series of pictures of people meditating, dancing and swimming with elephants, leopards, falcons, sperm whales, manatees and other large mammals. In addition, there is a one-hour video of these human-animal interactions. The exhibit is housed, currently in New York City, in a specially designed "nomadic museum", first constructed in Venice and dismantled and moved with the exhibit as it travels the world.

Riverkeeper

For over 35 years, Riverkeeper and its predecessor organization have been watchdogs for the health and protection of the Hudson River.

Our mission is to safeguard the ecological integrity of the Hudson River, its tributaries and the watershed of New York City (protecting the city's drinking water supply) by tracking down and stopping polluters. Since 1983, Riverkeeper has investigated and brought to justice more than 300 environmental lawbreakers. Riverkeeper believes in the rights of every citizen to enjoy and defend our nation's water resources.

Clearwater

The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc. is a story of people who have given of themselves as members, as supporters and as volunteers - people who have dreams for a better world and an unwavering belief that, as individuals, we can make a difference in bringing about a cleaner, safer world for ourselves and future generations. Clearwater conducts environmental education, advocacy programs and celebrations. The nucleus of the activities is to protect the Hudson River, its tributaries and related water bodies, and to create public awareness of the estuary’s complex relationship with the coastal zone. A magnificent natural design blending the freshwater streams of the Adirondacks with the salt tides of the Atlantic, the Hudson is a prime example of an estuary’s ecosystem that, as a type, ranks second only to rain forests in biological productivity.
