| Exploring
Kabbalah
Through Yoga and Shammanism
Two primary lines of spiritual exploration which underlie
all the world’s religious traditions, and date
back to the earliest times of humanity, are shamanism
and yoga. Both provide methods for freeing ourselves
from the limited perceptions of conditioned mind and
relating more consciously to all aspects of life. Through
both, we may directly access aspects of the Divine energies
(prana, chi, Light) that exist throughout our nature
and the world.
In this workshop, we will employ the tools of shamanism
and yoga to explore the Tree of Life of the Jewish mystical
tradition; Kaballah The Kabbalah encodes teachings for
deep spiritual awakening and practical guidance for
living a life with wisdom and healing intention. While
often taught as a complex intellectual or metaphysical
theory, we will focus on a very experiential approach
that brings awareness to the full body and mind.
This workshop will be an introduction to this way of
exploring Kabbalah, and not a course in the Jewish religion.
It is open to anyone, and offers a look at deeper practices
for a continuing group or individual work.
Alan Levin,M.A., L.M.F.T., has studied and taught
deep meditation practices and shamanic exploration for
the past 35 years. He is a licensed psychotherapist
in California, where he also led wilderness quests integrating
some of the perspectives he will share in this workshop.
It was through his wilderness experiences in the desert,
that he re-connected with his ancestral Jewish lineage.
He has just moved to Nyack and is beginning a practice
of working with individuals and groups with what he
calls, “therapy for the mind, heart and soul living
in a body”. |
